KTM 1290 Super Adventure S vs Africa Twin. I presently have a 2018 KTM 1290 Super Adventure S. I lowered it because I'm 5'-5 and weigh 150lbs. After 3 years of the KTM I have have dreaded electronic control issues with the bike dying and restarting and going into limp home mode.

Nov 2, 2016. Oddometer: 144. I found my 2016 Africa Twin a little boring, I'm guessing the new 1100 engine pepped it up a bit and the DCT looks great. The Triumph would get my vote as a good all rounder, the Yamaha Tracer 900 GT has a very low carrying capacity, 167Kg I think and it's panniers OR top box, not both.

Honda’s Africa Twin is seriously good as both an on-road tourer or far-flung adventurer, and it does little wrong, including how much cash it commands. Priced at $15,299, it’s a bargain
Similar with the 950-990, but this time the 890 has more low down torque and more torque everywhere. Obviously the dyno numbers can be difficult to compare but they do help to give you a rough idea. A new 750 or 800cc or similar AT could be a good adventure touring option. The litre plus bike is just too big and heavy.
